Become a Volunteer
We are in desperate need for volunteers for all shifts.
All our volunteers are NOT paid, not because they are worthless, but because they are priceless!
Questions about volunteering please email: pawstpvolunteer@yahoo.com
- Volunteer Duties include but not limited to:
- Caring for the dogs and cats, ranging from cleaning cages, feeding, medicating, socializing and grooming.
Junior
14 - 17 years of age
Once junior applications are submitted to P.A.W.S., a panel will consider all completed applications & choose the applicants that best fit the Jr. Program needs. Then we will contact those applicants for an orientation. Unfortunately, due to our small size & limited shift openings, we cannot accept all applicants into the program. Also, some of our Jr. Volunteers have been with the program for a while & will continue through the summer.
Required - Photo ID
Required - Parental Consent
Orientation Class
We very much appreciate your interest in the Jr. Program & we appreciate your support! Thank YOU!
Adult
The P.A.W.S. of Tinley Park could not exist without the dedicated efforts of our volunteer staff. We depend on them to help with the daily care of our animals. Dog or Cat person we would love to have you on our team!
All new volunteers must first attend a Volunteer Orientation session. All orientations will last approximately 2 hours and will include a tour of the shelter. Registration is required for your attendance and space is limited to 10 people.
Our next ADULT orientations are:
Thursday July 22nd, 7:00 p.m. - 9 p.m.
Saturday August 7th 4:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.
Tuesday August 10th 7:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.
Thursday August 26th 7:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.
We try to stay consistent from month to month by offering adult orientations the first Saturday of the month, the second Tuesday of the month, and the fourth Thursday of the month.
We have many openings throughout the day, seven days a week. We require
all adult volunteers to be 18 years of age; however, volunteers between
the ages of 14 and 17 are eligible for our Junior Program and must have
parental consent. The process of becoming a new volunteer can take a few
weeks, so please download a
